Heart Health Month
According to the Heart Foundation, nearly 80 million Americans currently suffer from some type of cardiovascular disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States, with more than 1 million succumbing each year. By 2020, cardiovascular disease is predicted to be the leading cause of death worldwide. So what can you do to minimize risk?
Follow the Alkaline Way to heart health.
Check your acid-alkaline balance daily to stay in touch with your body’s metabolic functions.
Eat fresh, high quality whole foods from organic, biodynamic and local sources.
Eat a wide variety of whole foods in a variety of ways to let your body select what it needs from healthier sources.
Hydrate and chew.
Incorporate movement and conscious breathing into your routine – whether you opt to do walking, yoga, or Pilates. We also encourage gentle stretching exercises and cardio or weight-bearing activities.
Keep homocysteine and Omega 3s at healthy goal values.
Supplement with micellized Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10).
CoQ10 is a vital factor in mitochondrial energy production, and is known to decrease with age. CoQ10 is responsible for increasing energy production in the heart, increasing the heart’s ability to contract, and lowering blood pressure. But not all CoQ10 formulations are the same. Read more about the importance of CoQ10 and what to look for to know you’re getting the best quality.
